It's not just a fun activity; it's a chance to explore the world alongside your dog, enhancing your bond while engaging in an exciting adventure which grows optimism and confidence as an added bonus.

What is Mantrailing?

Mantrailing is a fun dog sport that uses a dog's natural sense of smell to find a person who has been hidden away. Unlike traditional tracking, where dogs follow a set path, Mantrailing relies on the dog's ability to identify and follow the specific scent left by an individual. This makes the activity not only engaging but also mentally stimulating for your dog, enhancing your bond, communication and your ability to read dog body language.

The sport is grounded in real-life applications, often used by search and rescue teams to locate missing persons. In fact, over 80% of search and rescue operations rely on canine assistance due to dogs' exceptional tracking abilities. By simulating these situations in a safe, enjoyable and stimulating environment, you can have fun your dog, learn to work efficiently while developing an unbreakable partnership.

Why Should You Try Mantrailing?

1. Enhance Your Dog's Natural Abilities

Mantrailing taps into your dog's instincts, providing an avenue for them to utilise their incredible sense of smell, which is approximately 40 times more sensitive than humans. Engaging in scent-driven activities keeps your dog mentally alert and active, with the added bonus that this activity also promotes calmness. For instance, studies show that dogs can differentiate between over 100 million scent molecules, making them extraordinary partners in detecting scents.

2. Strengthen the Bond Between You and Your Dog

This fun sport is about teamwork. As you and your dog progress together, you nurture trust and dependence on one another. Each successful find reinforces your connection, leading to better communication and understanding as your ability to read your dogs body language increases. For instance, many owners report feelings of increased companionship after just a few weeks of training, highlighting the strengthening of their relationship.

3. Provide Mental and Physical Exercise

While many dog sports focus on physical exertion, Mantrailing uniquely combines mental challenges and physical activity. Your dog exercises their mind by solving the puzzle of locating a hidden person while also getting the physical benefits of trailing outside.
