Dogs are designed by nature to have many innate talents of which scent detection and scent discrimination are two.

These abilities are useful in lots of practical ways such as detecting different illnesses including some cancers or locating where the scent trail of a missing person leads/ ends.

What is Mantrailing?

It's team game of hide and seek.

You team up with your dog and employ their great sense of smell to match scent from an item left behind by the trail layer, to the scent trail which falls from them as they walk away to their hiding place. Yes, they can run but they can't hide, at least not for very long.

Watch your dog 'light up' with joy as they begin to understand the game of Mantrailing, enjoy a successful find together, share your dogs favourite treat or toy to reward them for their efforts.

Yes, as much as dogs love any scent work game, it is a a very tiring way to spend a few hours together, using their nose (olfactory system) has been shown to improve dogs confidence and optimism as a consequence of the hormones released whilst sniffing, it also makes them extremely thirsty, so don't forget to offer water frequently.
